God’s mercy and love for us has no end.

Here is a powerful, encouraging testimony from our partner church in Lebanon of God’s great love for all His people and His desire that no one perish.

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

God’s mercy and love for us has no end. As long as we look at the cross we can see God’s love through our Lord Jesus Christ. How wonderful to be saved from sin, the old nature and eternal condemnation!!! We are saved through Jesus blood by faith, not by the power of our deeds and religious acts, only by God’s grace!

My heart is filled with joy because God’s salvation is God’s miracle in our lives in changing a sinner, a dead man to become part of God’s family and have the eternal life. What a great joy and blessing to be part of God’s family.

Over the last 2 Sundays, I had a burden to share about God’s love and salvation during our Sunday morning services. So I followed God’s lead and shared from Matthew 11:25-30

“At that time Jesus said, I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

During that service an old man named “Aziz” (80 years old) was present, listening to every word I was sharing, I could notice in his eyes and face that he was captured by the word of God. At the of the message, as I lead the congregation in prayers to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, “Aziz” was praying in a loud voice. He was smiling and I could notice the joy in his heart. (more…)

Music… the language every heart speaks

I’ve been listening to my favorite worship songs in Arabic, French, Spanish, Italian and German.  Although I can barely carry on a conversation in any of those languages, I am moved by hearing God so joyfully praised.  It adds a whole new aspect to Psalm 96:1 and 1 Chronicles 16:23.  ”Sing to the Lord all the earth!  Tell of His salvation from day to day.”

There is something about worshiping in another culture that transcends language barriers.  Even if you don’t understand a word, you can feel the passion and praise.  It’s an intimate encounter with God and other believers unlike any other and I can’t wait to experience it again this summer in Rahbeh, Lebanon.

You can savor it for yourself.  Join a fall Panama or Honduras GO Team or pay a visit to Luz y Verdad for one of their worship services.  Check out these familiar songs and see if you can identify them:
