The Church at Griffin

Wikipedia reports that “Doc” Holiday was born in Griffin, Georgia.  Bernard Miller was, too.  Griffin:  the once thriving mill town.  Thriving mill town?  Not anymore. Many of the mills that provided much of the employment for the residents of Griffin have shut down – laid off workers.  Distressed economic conditions in the city have resulted in high unemployment as well as more undesirable problems like drugs.

Bernard?  Right!  Bernard Miller.  He’s still in Griffin.  In fact, he is the pastor of  “The Church at Griffin”,  which was the first African-American church planted in the Flint River Baptist Association.  This dynamic faith family is centered on God’s Word and is actively reaching out to the Griffin area and beyond with Bernard out front!  Pastor Miller serves as the president of the African American Fellowship of Georgia Baptists.  This man is loved by those he leads (and he leads by example) as well as those in the community.

The Church at Griffin partners with Rushton’s Hope, too – one of Eagle’s Landing’s local Points of Light.
