What is a People Group Anyway?

People Group – an ethnolinguistic group with a common self-identity that is shared by the various members. There are two parts to that word: ethno, and linguistic. Language is a primary and dominant identifying factor of a people group. But there are other factors that determine or are associated with ethnicity.

Unengaged Unreached People Groups (UUPGs) - A people group is unreached when the number of Evangelical Christians is less than 2% of its population. It is further called unengaged when there is no church planting methodology consistent with Evangelical faith and practice under way. A people group in not engaged when it has been merely adopted, is the object of focused prayer, or is part of an advocacy strategy.

Affinity Groups – large groupings of related people groups that share similar origins, languages and cultures.

Church Planting Movements – A simple, concise definition of a Church Planting Movement (CPM) is a rapid and multiplicative increase of indigenous churches planting churches within a given people group or population segment.

The Frontier Awaits Offering

A new door of challenge and opportunity is represented in this new budget! Not just a means of financing church planting and global outreach efforts, this new budget is a philosophy of allowing God to use the church to provide resources in order to accomplish the vision cast by The Frontier Awaits.

Beyond the regular tithe, this offering positions Eagle’s Landing to effectively achieve the mission of going through church planting and global outreach. Taken each week, The Frontier Awaits Offering gives us the channel for planned giving as well as special gifts so we can make an impact through supporting!

Based on Biblical giving principles, such as 2 Corinthians 8 & 9, The Frontier Awaits Offering…

encourages the giver to consistently contribute to the global outreach efforts by including it in their personal budget.

is an expression of the giver’s dependence on God to provide a gift above and beyond their personal budget.

provides the giver the opportunity to joyfully send workers into the field.

allows the giver to trust God to provide so that he or she can give, not to get.

How might an individual or family give to The Frontier Awaits Offering? First, you give yourself to allowing God to glorify Himself through your obedience and sacrifice (remember, the gifts are beyond your tithe). Then you expect God to provide an amount so you can freely give it on a monthly basis. Dad might eat out for lunch just one day less than normal. Mom might consider passing on a latte during the week. The kids might mow a lawn, rakes leaves or baby-sit to earn a little extra in order to help the family give. There could be timely rebates received from a purchase or a tax refund check received. An unexpected bonus received through employment is a way that God provides resources to give. Ideas abound for saving a little extra or earning a little more to allow for your faithful giving.

$500,000 is the goal for The Frontier Awaits Offering. This amount will allow us to fund the vision of church planting, reaching people near and far and sending out workers into the harvest field. We will be able to accomplish even more if the offering goes beyond the $500,000.
